Different versions of English can use different terms for the same concept. But in some instances the same word may mean different things to English speakers from different countries even in the same context.

The sprawk database uses a network-like structure to record the many different variations of terms in different contexts and senses.

Flapjack/Pancakes example

This example shows that the word "flapjack" can have two different meanings - "Square or bar of very rich chocolate cake usually with nuts" (for American English speakers) or "a flat cake or thin batter fried on both sides on a griddle" (for British English speakers). The cloud denotes the extend of the meanings, so "flapjack" is a term in both meanings, whereas the term "brownie" has a single meaning in this example.
