English style checking

English style checking

Sprawk style checking can be applied to your web audits, translation and editing projects or just run on any piece of text you are writing. Each checking rule is configurable and you can disable each rule completely if you wish.

To ease your setup, you can start by basing your preferences on a popular style guide, e.g. Chicago Manual of Style, The Oxford Style Manual, the Economist Style Guide or the Associated Press Stylebook.

Here are the current checkers available for English:

Formatting settings

Date/time

  • Formatting of dates without years, e.g. 28 February, February 28, 28 Feb, Feb 28, 28 Feb., or Feb. 28
  • Formatting of time with hourly precision, e.g. 10am, 10 am, 10AM, 10 AM, 10 o'clock in the morning

Numbers

  • Formatting of numbers greater than 1000, e.g. 1 234 / 1234 / 1,234
  • Formatting of decimal numbers, e.g. 1.234 / 1,234
  • Formatting of time with minutely precision, e.g. 10:12am / 10:12 am / 10:12AM / 10:12 AM / 10:12
