The sprawk API requires a valid sprawk team account and password. You can access most of the sprawk services completely free up to a limit of 500 request points per day. This will give you the opportunity to see what sprawk can do for your application without any financial commitment.
Active API mode
By default, team accounts do not have API functions enabled. Enabling API mode will mean that sprawk's website will listen for requests from your team’s code.
Set preferences
You can now set up language preferences, add special terminology and test the translation engine directly on the sprawk website.
Download the library for your programming language
sprawk itself runs as a web application so listens to and sends replies via the normal web port, thus safely bypassing most firewalls. Requests can be sent in XML format or through a web request such as sprawk.com/api/transWord.do?text=web%20application&from=eng&to=rus which would return the possible translations for "web application" into Russian. Alternatively a Java and .NET library can be downloaded which provide a native interface to request sprawk services.
Integrate
Once you have the library installed you can use the results from sprawk to add advanced language features to your own web application. All future releases of the sprawk interface will be backwards compatible, so you know that when we upgrade, your applications just keep working.
Monitor results
Every request is logged so that you can monitor load and quality of output. The system presents usage statistics and trends so that you know which features of your application are being used the most.
Customise
Once some traffic has gone through the system, you will be able to see top phrases, top translations and much more. With this knowledge you can further customise the results sprawk gives you.
Go Premium
If you find the service useful and have more than 500 request points per day, you may consider going premium. A premium account gives you unlimited requests, customer support and early access to new features.
